Lately my hair’s been feeling… well, a little blah. You know those days when it just looks flat or needs a little something to wake it up? That’s when I like to grab my trusty bottle of Rosemary essential oil.
I’ve always loved rosemary in the kitchen, but it turns out it’s great in my hair care routine too. The fresh, herbal scent instantly makes me feel a little more put together — and it’s so simple to use.
Here’s a super easy DIY rosemary hair mist that you can throw together in a couple of minutes. It smells amazing, makes my hair feel refreshed, and just feels like a little self-care moment in the middle of a busy day.
What I Like About It

- You can mix it with lavender for a softer, calming scent.
What You’ll Need
- 1 glass spray bottle (4–8 oz)
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 teaspoon fractionated coconut oil (keeps it light, not greasy)
- 5–8 drops dōTERRA Rosemary essential oil
- Optional: 2 drops Lavender essential oil (if you want a hint of floral)
How to Make It
- Pour the distilled water into your spray bottle.
- Add the fractionated coconut oil.
- Drop in your essential oils.
- Put the cap on and give it a good shake.
- Spritz a little on your hair whenever it needs a quick pick-me-up.
How I Use Mine
- After styling to add a fresh scent.
- Mid-afternoon when my hair starts looking a little tired.
- Before bed if I’m using lavender and want something relaxing.
